Abstract

Abstract

This article aims to review how sharia is implemented in the context of countries in Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Sudan and Indonesia. The method used in this research is library research, namely by referring to primary and secondary sources in the form of books, journals, scientific papers, regarding the implementation of sharia in Islamic countries in the world. The approach used in this research is a comparative approach (comparison). The results of this research are the application of the concept of sharia in Muslim-majority countries, experiencing diversity due to the plurality of understandings, sects, schools of thought and groups in interpreting teaching sources, Islam, namely the Koran and As-Sunnah and modern. Third, from the experience of implementing "Islamic principles" in the State by Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Kingdom of Malaysia, and the Islamic State of Afghanistan under the Taliban regime, Sudan, and Indonesia, the form of implementation is not single and monolithic but plural and heterogeneous, according to the space, time and conditions of each country.
