The seminary was institution of Islam which grew and developed in Java and until now still survive. In the modern era of boarding school proved to be an institution more concerned with morals and morality construction of the participants of his protégé. Meunasah is lower-level institution that exists in Aceh. Its function is similar to the surau which is in Minangkabau. As Islamic institution level is low, the subject matter that diberikanpun still surrounding the knowledge of how to read Qur'an which is good and right, then given knowledge of the faith, morals and worship. Long pendidikannyapun not specified ranges from two to ten years, there is no admission fee, this institution has been able to print the Acehnese have a high religious fanaticism. While the surau for the people of Minangkabau have versatility. It not only serves as a gathering place, a meeting, a bed but also serves as an Islamic institution. The Minangkabau society is an open society means that communities that do not close yourself to accept the changes so in the end change that happens to be a threat to the survival of the institution of surau as an Islamic institution. But behind it, the surau has been able to give birth to great scholars scholars respected both in and outside of the Minangkabau Minangkabau even internationally.
